Buying or Selling an Optometric Practice.
Whether it is the start of your career and your first big investment in a practice of your own, the middle of your career with expansion plans to grow your eye care network to two, three or four locations, or the end of your career where you are thinking about how to turn this hard-earned practice into a retirement, or at least semi-retirement plan, buying or selling a practice is one of the most consequential decisions of your career as an optometrist.
Like many important events in our lives, we do them once and therefore arrive without the requisite knowledge or experience to get the most out of them. You need the expertise of The Growth Cooperative.
The Growth Cooperative is partnering with ODs on Finance to support this aspect of your financial planning and development.
The Growth Cooperative has been helping optometrists with practice sales and purchases since the arrival of Private Equity into the market around 2014. Since then, we have expanded into private doctor-to-doctor sales, sales to private equity firms, mergers of solo practices into larger, multi-doctor single location practices and network building with many locations in a single market. Our work is highly customized and while there is much to be learned from each event, we make sure to tailor each acquisition and sale to the needs of the owners.
Please use the resources at left to educate yourself to this process. Logic takes a back seat to the specific knowledge of the processes surrounding a sale or acquisition.
Fees
The Growth Cooperative works on ‘success fees’ – that is, we are paid, if and only if, there is an acquisition or sale.
Our success fee is 3.5% of the sale price paid at the time of sale.
