Our Recorded Webinar August 1, 2018

A big ‘thank you’ to Dr. Steven M. Wilson for sharing his knowledge and experience in managing vision plans.  That’s right.  For most optometrists, vision plans are in charge and managing you and your practice.  But there are methodologies that allow you to take back control of your practice and be responsible for the full experience of each and every patient.

As an in-network provider, you are beholden to many complex rules and regulations that govern what you can and cannot provide your patients.  In-network status requires many complex relationships with vendors, labs and complex payment scenarios that almost always disappoint – both the patient and provider.

Dr. Wilson has an incredibly successful practice in Georgia and five years ago, he faced the vision plans down and won a landmark decision against Spectera (Wilson v. Spectera) that was then carried over to all vision plans.  It is called ‘Opt Out’ because while you remain in-network and accept network payments, you ‘opt out’ of many of the optical processing rules and become fully responsible for that aspect of your patient’s experience.

Dr. Wilson provided a 2-hour seminar  on August 1, 2018 on the techniques he has developed since opting out of all vision plans 5 years ago.  He has worked through most of the bumps along the way and now you get a ‘leg-up’ on these methods, and the out-of-network option available in States where opting out is not an option.
